The Future

Looks Good

The SHINE Program, an after-school sports program for eligible kids of the Yuma County. Designed to teach youth the fundamentals of playing sports and facilitate a general understanding of various games, such as softball/baseball, soccer, basketball, football, and more. We challenge kids physically and mentally, foster team spirit, promote healthy competition, discipline, citizenship, good sportsmanship, and build youth of strong moral character! With a focus on physical fitness, exercise, nutrition, and overall health and wellness.

Our Mentors

SHINE’s Mentor Leader program was recently established, thanks to the commitment of members and graduates of The SHINE Program. Mentoring is a critical element in every child's social, emotional, and cognitive development. It builds a sense of competency, boosts academic performance, and broadens horizons. The Mentor Leader program is offered to youth grades seven through twelve.  Several youths participate in the weekly training program designed to educate and develop participants to become Mentors.
